Weekend snapshots

We had a full weekend here at "June Makes Six".  We started off Friday afternoon with a trip to our hometown festival.  The girls played games, drank lemonade, and rode the rides.  Both girls had their first Ferris wheel ride!

We came home, grilled out, and had our maiden voyage of outdoor movie night.  We watched "The Muppet's", ate popcorn, licorice, and stayed up late.

The big boys came home from Philly and we spent Father's day relaxing and having family time.

Today I did laundry, laundry, and more laundry.  It was a Monday!

Scout

Yesterday the girls and I headed out to scout a location for a portrait session this weekend.  You may remember my cousin Miles from a previous session, well, he is growing up quick and we need to snap a few more shots of him....Anyway, like I was saying the girls and I went to check out our location.  I was able to grab a few shots of the girls.  It was the perfect Summer day, warm but not hot, no humidity, and lots of sunshine.

I love the pictures of the girls on the pier that trails through the bog.  The one of Kendall grabbing June's face to kiss it is my favorite, she seems so sweet.  However, I had to laugh as I edited these pictures last night.  Shortly after these pictures were taken Kendall shoved play doh up her nose, which entailed lots of screaming and Dr's calls and of course that was not enough for her so a few hours later that sweet baby from the pictures below markered her face and hands with black marker......she is a wild thing!

We are looking forward to a fun weekend.  We have a festival in town, the boys come home from Philly tomorrow, and I can't forget Father's Day.  Enjoy your weekend!

Once upon a time....

Once upon a time there was a beautiful, talented, intelligent, witty, creative, stylish Mama Bear.  Mama Bear had five beautiful, talented, intelligent, witty, creative, stylish bear cubs, one was even a Panda.  Oh, and you should see Papa Bear!  Not only did this Mama Bear have the perfect family, she had the perfect life; her house was always clean, she cooked gourmet dinners every night, the laundry was always finished, the bear cubs always listened, the bear cubs all had straight A's, everyone brushed their teeth for two minutes twice a day, and she and Papa Bear were able to have long and engaging conversations every night when the cubs went to bed at exactly 8pm.  Their life was the perfect Pinterest picture all of the time.  The End.

 Then Mama Bear woke up to the chaos and craziness of life parenting 5 bear cubs, but it's okay 'cause there is wine for that:)

Okay, enough joking....as you may remember from last month some of my girls and I started a little photography/creativity project.  This month the theme was "Storybook".  I decided to share some of my girl cubs favorite books with you today.

Newbie

It has not been a pick up the camera kind of week around here.  I started out the week sick, can't get out of bed sick.  Glad to say after some antibiotics and a bit of rest I am on the mend, which is good because it has been a full week....awards, end of the year programs, and finals for the big boys.  We are looking forward to the weekend, kind of.  It is soccer tournament weekend around here 8 games and volunteering ahead of us.  Hopefully, Monday will be full of R&R and a bit of sunshine.

Now on to my title.  I am a newbie, yep, an Instagram newbie.  Here is a little of what I have been sharing in my new little corner of the world and HERE is where you can find me.

The Kendall Girl

Well, here they finally are.  Kendall at three.  I love three, I love her still baby face, I love her sass (most of the time), I love her energy, her back talk, her independence.  I love when she reaches for my hand and puts her tiny hand in mine, I love when she sings in the car, I love when she falls asleep in the car, really I just love when she falls asleep 'cause she is so darn busy all the time.  No doubt this girl was given to me to challenge me as a parent, to push me, she is my Kendall and I am so glad to journey with her through the crazy ride called life.

Soccer time

Game one.  This girl was on fire, she played one hundred percent all on.  Which, is actually funny if you would have seen here at practice the night before.  The night before my dad and I watched June practice and said, "she can always find something else".  Well the joke was on us, at least for the first two games;)  At the first game she scored the first goal of many....I lost count somewhere around 16.

June counted out each of the goals with shout and a jump....which by 16 started making the other team parents a little upset.  Really?  She is six and having an awesome game.  I should note the other team scored about the same:)

She ran.

She kicked.

She jumped.

After a long game, she watched Jake play and got a pep talk from dad.

She is really enjoying the season and is so much fun to watch.  She congratulates and encourages her teammates, gets exercise, but mostly she just has fun!

PS:  Do you notice the small ponytail in June's hair....no matter what kind of holder we use her fine, smooth hair slips right out.
